Last week, Josh and Charlie Karlsen, launched Project 11 at The British Museum.
Creative production and luxury hospitality can be difficult environments to navigate without an existing foot in the door. Ambition and capability exist everywhere, but the route into high-end London venues is rarely visible or accessible when someone has to build that bridge entirely on their own.
Project 11 focuses directly on that practical gap, providing structured mentorship, internships, and direct industry networks for emerging talent from underrepresented backgrounds.
Having supported Opus 11 through their B Corp certification, this initiative reflects the mindset required to move beyond business as usual. Certification is frequently misunderstood as a baseline compliance exercise, designed merely to prove that an enterprise avoids doing harm. The deeper value of the standard is to encourage companies to step outside neutral territory and use their commercial standing to reshape the trade they operate within.
Building dependable, long-term pathways for people entering the sector takes real commitment alongside the demands of running a business. A grounded, necessary step forward for Josh, Charlie, their board of trustees, and everyone involved in establishing Project 11.
It was a real pleasure to be in the room to support the launch. A seamless evening, with great food, music, and a thoughtful speech from Josh setting out the practical vision ahead.
