Carbon Literacy.

+ Climate Fresk.

At Bold Green Strategies, we believe well-supported teams get the best results.

Sustainability is a complex topic, and being able to confidently understand and communicate is key to the success of in-house policies and projects, as well as a consideration when interacting with clients or customers; climate change and greenwashing are both very real risks to business.

We use the Carbon Literacy Project and Climate Fresk frameworks to upskill teams quickly and keep the conversation moving forwards.

Carbon Literacy.

We are delighted to offer three Carbon Literacy courses: Carbon Literacy for Catering, Hospitality, and Events Professionals, Carbon Literacy for Museums and Carbon Literacy for Heritage Organisations.

The Carbon Literacy Project offers a day’s worth of learning, covering climate change, carbon footprints, its relevance to your life and work, and personal action. The Project is globally unique and was recognised by the UN at COP21 where it was awarded as a TAP100, one of 100 worldwide Transformative Action Programs.

As of 2024, the Project has certified over 100,000 learners as Carbon Literate, and estimates carbon savings of 5-15% per person.

*With special thanks to Roots & Branches (a collaboration between The Carbon Literacy Project, Museum Development England and Manchester Museum, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England), and Historic England.

  • Carbon Literacy for Catering, Hospitality, and Events Professionals

Carbon Literacy for Catering, Hospitality, and Events Professionals

This is Bold Green Strategies’ signature course, and is is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project. It draws on our wealth of experience working in the hospitality sector.

This course has been designed with busy teams in mind, and has in-depth case studies and practical actions that can translate into meaningful real-world change.

  • Carbon Literacy for Museums

    Carbon Literacy for Museums

Museums play a distinct role in our communities, inspiring and informing millions of people every year. It is important that those who work and volunteer at museums feel confident about climate change.

The course contains practical information to support efforts to reduce carbon impacts, and meet funding requirements, and tools to support staff in effective communication.

  • Carbon Literacy for Heritage Organisations

    Carbon Literacy for Heritage Organisations

Developed by Historic England and Historic Buildings & Places, this course aims to support the wider heritage sector, from organisations that manage heritage sites to those who provide heritage services.

It’s important that people working in the heritage sector feel confident in their climate change knowledge, understanding how their actions can affect the historic environment and the heritage assets they care for.

Kind words.

Nash and Anj delivered a fascinating day’s Carbon Literacy training for our wider team and we’re all looking forward to planning our pledges, making a difference and getting our Carbon Literate certificates. Thank you to you both for an eye-opening day!

Climate Fresk.

As part of our climate literacy offering, Bold Green Strategies are licensed facilitators of Climate Fresk, a card game of cause-and-consequence.

Climate Fresk is a unique tool (that emerged in France in 2015) which helps to contextualise some of the trickier aspects of climate science.

This in-person collaborative workshop uses an interactive card game, based on 42 cards, to teach the fundamental science behind climate change and empowers its participants to take action.

Climate facts are sourced from scientific publications found in the IPCC reports: these are the same reports that inform global political and economic decision-making at the highest level.

As of 2023, over a million people have participated.

The cards are in your hands!
