Anj Gierak

Director | Sustainability Consultant & Award-winning Architect

Anj brings the technical rigour and structural precision of an award-winning architectural career to the sustainability sector. His professional practice has focused on the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, ranging from commercial towers in Canary Wharf to the sensitive conservation of listed properties on Denmark Street and Soho Square. This portfolio includes Victoria Wharf, which secured two awards and was shortlisted by the Architects’ Journal for Housing Project of the Year.

As a specialist in technical systems, Anj developed the frameworks for both the consultancy’s Harker™ methodology and its internal B Corp mapping system. This tool translates complex guidance into a visual gauge of progress, ensuring mandatory benchmarks are met well before the verification process begins.

With expertise in ISO certifications, BREEAM, NABERS UK, and Lifecycle Carbon Assessment (LCA), Anj provides the oversight required to de-risk the planning process and ensure sustainability statements are technically robust. This precision extends to the events sector, where he has delivered footprinting for major catering operations, including the BAFTA Film and Television Awards and flagship events at The Natural History Museum.

His perspective combines the built environment with sustainability to highlight the interconnectedness of people, places, and planet—a philosophy he advocates for as a coach and mentor to early-career architects.

Anj is an ARB-registered Architect and chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
